Amaechi Urges ADC to Present Strong Candidate for 2027

Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transport, addressed members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during a party convention held in Abuja on Tuesday. He called for the ADC to present a viable candidate for the upcoming 2027 general elections, stressing the importance of unity among stakeholders to achieve victory.

Amaechi warned that success in the elections would require strategic planning and consensus. He raised concerns about alleged attempts to restrict opposition activities and accused the current administration of undermining democratic principles.

Furthermore, he criticized the government for prioritizing personal gains over public service, highlighting the rising wave of insecurity in Nigeria, which has resulted in killings, displacement, and kidnappings across the country. Amaechi urged ADC leaders to close ranks and provide a credible alternative to the current administration.
