Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Primary in Akwa Ibom

Bola Ahmed Tinubu won the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Akwa Ibom State, receiving a total of 389,197 votes. The primary was conducted on Saturday, May 23, with a significant turnout of party delegates from all 31 local government areas in the state.

Pastor Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, commended the party for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise, stating that the outcome reflects the confidence and support Tinubu enjoys among APC members in the state. Senate President Godswill Akpabio also praised the governor for ensuring a peaceful environment during the primary, highlighting the importance of reducing incidents of rancor and violence, which have marred previous primaries.

The successful conduct of this primary is seen as a positive indicator for the APC's prospects in the 2027 presidential election.
