GGAA Defends Zacch Adedeji's APC Campaign Role Amid Criticism

The Good Governance Agenda (GGAA) has responded to opposition criticism regarding Zacch Adedeji's appointment as Deputy Director of Fundraising for the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a statement signed by convener Randy Atu on Tuesday, September 1, the group argued that the criticism is a distraction from more pressing national issues such as inflation, food prices, insecurity, and service delivery.

Atu stated that the volume of criticism directed at Adedeji indicates the opposition's electoral anxieties rather than any genuine breach of public service ethics. The GGAA contended that Adedeji's expertise in revenue mobilization is a valuable asset for a national campaign and does not compromise the independence of government agencies.

The group dismissed claims that including a sitting public officer in a campaign council constitutes institutional capture, suggesting that any credible evidence of misconduct should be addressed through formal complaints rather than public outcry. Atu emphasized that ordinary Nigerians are more concerned with living costs and public services than the internal dynamics of political campaigns.
