ADC Accuses FG of Undermining Electoral Neutrality

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the Federal Government of leveraging state institutions to promote President Bola Tinubu's agenda ahead of the 2027 elections. Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of ADC, highlighted concerns regarding the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) contracting a long-time political ally of the President for election logistics.

Additionally, the ADC pointed out the Lagos State Commissioner of Police's presence at the launch of the pro-Tinubu City Boy Movement, which they argue undermines public trust. The ADC warned that such actions indicate a troubling trend of partisan actors infiltrating state institutions, compromising their neutrality.

They called for immediate explanations from INEC and the Nigeria Police Force regarding these developments, emphasizing that any logistics arrangements involving partisan individuals could jeopardize the electoral process's integrity. The ADC plans to formally request clarification from INEC about its dealings with the NURTW faction linked to President Tinubu.
