Barau Advocates for Tinubu's Second Term at Symposium

On Sunday, during a one-day National Symposium themed “Enhanced Political Participation and Social Justice as a Panacea for Unity and Development in Nigeria,” held in Jos, Plateau State, Barau articulated that supporting President Tinubu for a second term is crucial for upholding the North-South political understanding. He argued that power rotation is vital for national unity, stating that the North completed eight years under former President Muhammadu Buhari, and it is only just for the South to complete a similar term.

Barau emphasized that allowing Tinubu to serve a second term would honor this agreement, thereby strengthening democracy and promoting equity. He urged Nigerians to prioritize national interest and social justice over sectional politics, asserting that mutual trust between the North and South is essential for peace and development.

Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, the National Chairman of JIBWIS, also spoke, encouraging Nigerians to embrace each other regardless of ethno-religious differences, emphasizing that peace and mutual respect are key to national development.
