Tinubu's Reforms Enhance Nigeria Police Recruitment Appeal

On Wednesday, Taiwo Lakanu, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police and member of the Police Service Commission, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's ongoing reforms in the Nigeria Police Force. During a tour of the Ogun State Police Command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, Lakanu noted that these reforms are making the police force more appealing to potential recruits.

He emphasized that there has never been a better time to join the police, particularly as the federal government aims to increase the strength of the Nigeria Police Force by 50,000 personnel through a nationwide recruitment exercise. Lakanu encouraged young Nigerians to view a career in the police as a viable and rewarding option, highlighting improvements in welfare, better salary structures, and opportunities for professional development as key factors in attracting new recruits.
