Tinubu Retains Shettima for 2027 Election, Boosts APC

Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, the executive director of the Hadejia Jama River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDDA), praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's decision to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election. Kwankwaso described this decision as a significant political boost that strengthens the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s hold in Northern Nigeria.

He stated that the choice of Shettima inspires confidence across the region, positioning the APC strongly ahead of the 2027 general elections. Kwankwaso argued that this move dealt a significant setback to opposition parties and emphasized Shettima's role as a key pillar in Tinubu's administration.

He commended Shettima for promoting unity across the region despite challenges and expressed that the people of Northern Nigeria are ready to re-elect Tinubu and Shettima. The formal unveiling of Shettima as Tinubu's running mate occurred during a ceremony in Abuja, where Tinubu submitted his nomination form to the APC National Working Committee.
