2026 WTT Lagos Tournament Set for May with $100,000 Prize

The 2026 WTT Lagos tournament is scheduled to occur from May 19 to May 24 at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria. This event will feature elite table tennis players from powerhouse nations including Denmark, the USA, India, Portugal, Romania, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Belgium, Canada, Togo, the Netherlands, Ghana, Wales, Egypt, Italy, Chile, and Slovenia.

The tournament will offer a total prize purse of $100,000, distributed across five days of competition. According to Adesoji Tayo, chairman of the local organizing committee, the Lagos tournament has become a showcase for elite-level table tennis in Africa and underscores Nigeria's growing influence on the global sports stage.

The event will feature both men's and women's singles with 32 players in the main draw per gender, as well as men's and women's doubles with 16 pairs per gender and mixed doubles with eight pairs. This tournament is part of the WTT Contender series, which serves as a vital bridge between grassroots development and elite competition.
