TotalEnergies, NNPC Launch 2026 VIA Programme for Youth

TotalEnergies and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have initiated the 2026 VIA Programme, targeting 600 students aged 18 across 30 public secondary schools in Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos, and Rivers State. This program aims to promote road safety awareness and empower young people to become ambassadors for safer mobility.

The initiative encourages students to express their understanding of road safety through various creative mediums such as artwork, songs, poems, and drama, while also proposing practical solutions to road safety challenges. Moyosola Areola, the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited, emphasized that the program goes beyond teaching road safety; it aims to empower youth to understand their environmental responsibilities for safer journeys.

The program is designed inclusively to ensure that no child, particularly vulnerable ones, is left behind in road safety efforts, providing students with knowledge and a platform to act as champions for safer and inclusive mobility in their communities. The initiative is part of a broader effort that has reached 924,000 young people across 43 countries.
