Tottenham Faces £261 Million Loss If Relegated

Tottenham Hotspur could incur a financial hit of £261 million if relegated from the Premier League, as they currently sit just one point above the relegation zone with ten matches remaining in the season. According to an analysis by BBC Sport, the club's revenue, which is projected to reach £690 million by 2025, would be severely affected.

Key areas of income include £130 million from ticket sales, making it the fifth highest in Europe. Relegation would also lead to a sharp decline in broadcast income, as the club would lose out on significant domestic and international television deals.

Last season, promoted side Ipswich Town earned broadcast revenue comparable to that of Spanish giant FC Barcelona. Additionally, Tottenham would lose Champions League television income unless they qualify for the next tournament.

The club's commercial revenue, which reached £269 million last year, could also decline due to sponsorship agreements with Nike and AIA, which include clauses that reduce their value if the club is relegated.
