Tottenham Completes £75m Savinho Transfer from City

Tottenham confirmed the signing of Brazil international Savinho from Manchester City for £75 million on August 25. This transfer concludes a protracted saga that began over a year ago when Spurs first attempted to acquire the winger.

Savinho remained at Manchester City, where he struggled for playing time under coach Pep Guardiola, particularly after the arrival of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in January. He ended the previous season with only seven Premier League starts.

Now, under Tottenham's coach Roberto De Zerbi, Savinho has signed a long-term deal that could increase to £85 million with add-ons. Savinho expressed his happiness about the move, crediting De Zerbi's conversations for his decision, as he trusts the coach to help him reach his potential.

Despite a reduced role at City, Savinho maintained impressive performance metrics, recording eight Premier League assists from open play in the 2024-25 season.
