Troops Seize AK-47s, Arrest Two in Delta Community Raid

On Monday, troops from the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army conducted a successful operation in Ogidigben, a community in the Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State. The operation, led by Captain Iliyasu Bawa Rijau, resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the confiscation of four AK-47 rifles, six magazines, 106 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two knives, ten machetes, and four pairs of rain boots.

This operation was initiated in response to credible intelligence regarding sporadic shootings in the community. The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.

Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibar, the commander of the 63 Brigade, commended the troops for their resilience and commitment to maintaining security in the area, urging individuals and groups harboring arms to reconsider their actions as efforts to track down criminal elements intensify.
