Troops Dismantle IPOB/ESN Stronghold in Anambra State

On Friday, troops from a joint task force comprising the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police Force, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps executed a decisive operation against the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Mother Valley, Nkwere, Anambra State. The operation, described as a final foot assault, lasted three hours and faced fierce resistance from criminal elements using heavy gunfire.

Despite the challenging terrain, the troops demonstrated courage and discipline, successfully neutralizing hostile elements. Significant recoveries included two pump-action guns, locally fabricated weapons, and various logistical items, alongside the destruction of terrorist infrastructure, including solar panels and a Mikano generator.

Additionally, two suspected IPOB members were arrested during the operation. The Nigerian Army emphasized its commitment to dismantling terrorist networks across the Southeast and assured law-abiding citizens of sustained security presence.
