Troops Neutralize Boko Haram Infiltration in Borno

On April 18, troops from the 153 Task Force Battalion engaged in a fierce exchange of fire with suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists attempting to infiltrate the Kirawa-Pulka axis in Borno State. The encounter occurred when the troops were conducting military patrols along the Kirawa, Sabon Gari, and Mararaba Pulka corridor.

The soldiers intercepted the insurgents, who were reportedly riding motorcycles and attempting to infiltrate the Ngosh area for an attack. The troops overwhelmed the insurgents with superior firepower, resulting in the death of two terrorists on the spot, while others fled in disarray, possibly injured by gunfire.

Military authorities confirmed that there were no casualties or equipment losses on the side of the troops. Following the engagement, clearance operations along the withdrawal route yielded no further contact with the insurgents.
