Troops Celebrate Eid in Ngoshe Amid Boko Haram Threats

On Eid el-Fitr, Nigerian troops from Operation Hadin Kai celebrated in Ngoshe mosque, Borno State, defying threats from Boko Haram, which had circulated propaganda intending to instill fear and seize control of the town during the celebrations. Following an earlier attack on March 4, the Nigerian Army swiftly reinforced the area, supported by aerial surveillance and local intelligence to disrupt insurgent movements.

The military's presence allowed residents to freely observe prayers and engage in celebrations without incidents, symbolizing a reversal of insurgent intent. The troops' actions were commended by local community members, who cooperated with the military, contributing to the success of the operations.

Authorities urged the public to avoid spreading terrorist propaganda that undermines national security efforts, emphasizing that there were no Boko Haram militants present in Ngoshe during the celebrations.
