Troops Eliminate 12 ISWAP/Boko Haram Terrorists in Nigeria

On May 22, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, successfully eliminated 12 ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists during a failed assault on military positions in Kirawa, located along the Nigeria-Cameroon border. The operation was initiated after troops detected an attempted infiltration by the terrorists.

The Joint Task Force responded promptly, utilizing superior firepower to repel the attackers, who subsequently retreated towards Cameroon, suffering heavy casualties. Intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance assets provided coordinated support during the engagement.

Following the encounter, evidence of blood trails indicated that several terrorists escaped with gunshot wounds. Troops recovered significant items, including AK-47 rifles, a rocket-propelled grenade system, and ammunition, further diminishing the operational capabilities of the insurgents in the area.
