Troops Rescue Kidnap Victims, Foil Attacks in Kaduna

On June 18, troops responded to a distress call in the Kerawa area of Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State, rescuing three kidnap victims: Bilkisu Hayatu, Habibah Sadisu, and one-year-old Abdulmutallib Sadisu. The victims were abandoned by their captors who fled the scene.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the victims were abducted from Kajenjer Tami Village on May 17. In a separate operation in Zamfara State, troops from Sector 2 collaborated with security agencies to foil a planned terrorist attack on Gamdanda Village in Gummi Local Government Area.

The troops engaged in a gun duel, recovering weapons and ammunition, and disrupting terrorist logistics. Additionally, four suspects were arrested, including Muhammad Mamman, whose inconsistent statements raised suspicion and led to further investigations.

In Maru Local Government Area, troops repelled a terrorist attack, inflicting heavy casualties on the assailants, although three soldiers lost their lives during the encounter.
