Nigerian Troops Rescue 31 Victims, Kill 5 Bandits

Olaniyi Osoba, successfully killed five bandits and rescued 31 kidnapping victims in operations conducted in Zamfara and Katsina states. The rescue operation took place along the Bagega-Kaway axis in the Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where the victims had been held captive for several weeks.

Following precise air interdiction and ground assaults, the victims were freed and identified as natives from various local government areas including Maga, Gummi, Zuru, Wasugu, and Bukuyyum. They received medical attention and were reunited with their families.

In a separate engagement in Katsina State, troops intercepted terrorists along the Ruwan Godiya-Sayaya road in the Matazu Local Government Area, resulting in the neutralization of three terrorists and the recovery of motorcycles and ammunition. The operation also led to the identification of a notorious terrorist kingpin, Muhammad Fulani.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing operations aimed at eliminating terrorism and safeguarding lives and property in the northwest region.
