Troops Kill ISWAP Chief Photographer in Major Offensive

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intensified their offensive against the propaganda machinery of terrorist groups in North-east Nigeria, achieving a significant breakthrough with the killing of Abu Salim al-Barnawi, the chief photographer for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), along with several foreign accomplices. This operation, confirmed by Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, occurred during a failed terrorist attack on a military location on July 12, 2026.

Abu Salim was responsible for producing propaganda and glorifying ISWAP's atrocities. His death, along with that of other ISWAP mobile media team members, is seen as a major blow to the group's operational capabilities.

The military's sustained offensive has reportedly compelled ISWAP to acknowledge the loss through an obituary, indicating the pressure exerted by Operation Hadin Kai on the terrorist group.
