Troops Uncover ISWAP Leaders in Borno State Operation

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai conducted a successful intelligence-led operation against ISWAP/ISIS enclaves in the Lake Chad region of northern Borno State. They recovered an ISWAP propaganda camcorder and identified several top terrorist commanders, including Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the Wali (Governor) of ISWAP, and his deputy, Muhammad Jidda, known as “The One-Handed Man.” The operation also identified Hamad Abu Hanifa, the Amirul-Fiya of ISWAP.

The military stated that forensic analysis of the recovered devices provided actionable intelligence, revealing locations tied to terrorist activities and the identities of senior ISWAP leaders. A substantial financial reward was announced for credible information leading to the arrest of Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, who is considered the most wanted ISWAP leader in the region.

The military urged the public to provide timely intelligence while ensuring the confidentiality of informants.
