Troops Intercept Boko Haram Fuel Suppliers in Yobe

On March 24, troops from the 241 Battalion deployed at Forward Operating Base Jajimaji conducted a night patrol in Yusufari Local Government Area, Yobe State, where they intercepted two vehicles loaded with premium motor spirit (PMS). The vehicles attempted to flee upon sighting the troops, prompting a successful pursuit.

The first vehicle was apprehended, while the second was intercepted shortly after. A search of the vehicles revealed seven sacks filled with PMS, totaling 77 liters.

The driver of one vehicle was identified as Moham Idi, 25, and another individual, Mero Umra, 21, was also arrested. Additionally, Hasan Liman, 50, the fuel station manager, and Jibril Audu, 28, a security guard, were apprehended.

The operation led to the recovery of a cash sum of N1.6 million, suspected to be proceeds from illicit supply activities. All recovered items are currently in military custody pending further investigation.

This operation illustrates ongoing efforts by troops to disrupt the logistical networks supporting insurgent activities in the northeast.
