Troops Eliminate Boko Haram Commander, Arrest Drone Supplier

On Thursday, troops engaged suspected Boko Haram fighters in an ambush along the Visik River in Madagali, resulting in the neutralization of Abdullahi Mafa, a former commander of the insurgent group. Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the troops successfully overpowered the insurgents during the encounter, although casualty details for the troops were not immediately available.

In a separate operation, the troops arrested Dauda Usman Gubula, identified as a suspected logistics supplier of drones to the terrorists, during a raid at the Madagali motor park. The items recovered from Gubula included two aerial drones and 20 solar power banks, which were allegedly intended to support insurgent activities.

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing investigation. The Nigerian military has intensified operations in the area to dismantle Boko Haram networks and restore security, collaborating with local vigilante hunters to curb insurgent activities affecting the community.
