Nigerian Troops Eliminate ISWAP Second-in-Command in Sambisa Forest Operation

Nigerian troops, as part of the Joint Task Force in the North East, achieved a major breakthrough by killing Abu Khalid, the second-in-command of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), along with 10 other terrorists in a coordinated night operation in Sambisa Forest, Borno State. The operation, led by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, targeted high-value ISWAP operatives responsible for coordinating operations and logistics across the Sambisa Axis.

This success comes within 24 hours of a previous operation where troops eliminated another ISWAP commander, Julaibib, in the Gujba Axis. Military intelligence indicates the disruption of ISWAP's operations and the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and other logistics.

The troops also recorded successes in Adamawa State by foiling an armed robbery attempt and rescuing an abducted woman during patrols. The Joint Task Force remains committed to sustaining operations until all terrorist elements are neutralized, ensuring peace and stability in the region.
