Nigerian Troops Dismantle ISWAP Facilities, Eliminate Commanders in Successful Operation

Nigerian troops, under the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, uncovered and dismantled three major detention facilities operated by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) deep within the Timbuktu Triangle in the Sambisa Forest area spanning parts of Borno and Yobe states. The operation resulted in the elimination of five top ISWAP commanders, including two Qaids and three Munzirs, along with 27 fighters.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba confirmed the success of the operation, which also led to the freeing of 70 detainees. The dismantled detention centers were capable of holding up to 300 captives, significantly weakening ISWAP's operational and coercive structures.

The operation showcased the troops' resilience, professionalism, and effectiveness in combating terrorism in the region.
