Troops Eliminate Two ISWAP Fighters in Yobe Ambush

On May 27, troops from the 27 Task Force Brigade, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, successfully neutralized two suspected Boko Haram ISWAP terrorists during an ambush operation in the Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State. The operation, which took place around 4:00 PM, was part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the northeast, specifically under the operation Hadin Kai.

Military sources reported that the ambush followed credible intelligence regarding the movement of suspected terrorists around Kasaicia Village along the Damaturu-Buni Yadi road. During the encounter, two insurgents were killed, and weapons, including two AK-47 rifles and empty magazines, were recovered from the scene.

Security officials confirmed that the area remains under the control of the troops, who are maintaining heightened surveillance and readiness to continue operations aimed at disrupting terrorist activities across Yobe and neighboring states.
