Troops Neutralize Terrorist Scout in Borno Ambush

On June 6, 2023, troops from the 73 Battalion conducted an ambush operation near Malari Village in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State. Military sources reported that the operation was initiated following intelligence indicating a massing of terrorists around the village.

The troops positioned themselves along the route leading to the village and observed a suspected terrorist scout approaching at approximately 10:15 PM. When challenged to stop, the suspect allegedly continued advancing despite repeated warnings.

Consequently, the ambush team engaged the suspect, resulting in their neutralization. This operation is part of ongoing intelligence-led counterterrorism efforts aimed at disrupting insurgent movements and preventing attacks in the northeastern theater.

The military authorities emphasized their commitment to maintaining vigilance and sustaining offensive operations against terrorist elements across the region.
