Troops Neutralise 102 Terrorists, Arrest 345 in July

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) announced that in July, troops neutralised over 102 terrorists and criminal elements, arrested 345 individuals, and rescued 393 kidnap victims. Maj.-Gen.

Michael Onoja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed these figures during a briefing in Abuja. Notable successes included the killing of Abu Salim al-Barnawi, a senior Boko Haram/ISWAP commander, on July 12, which significantly impacted the insurgents' leadership.

Additionally, on July 25, a senior finance operative of ISWAP surrendered, bringing with him an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, a motorcycle, and cash. The military's operations also involved community development projects, including constructing town halls and restoring electricity infrastructure, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring a secure environment for socio-economic stability in Nigeria.
