Nigerian Troops Neutralize 662 Terrorists in 3 Months

In a report by Major General Michael Onoja, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) disclosed that Nigerian Armed Forces troops neutralized 662 terrorists and arrested 1,084 suspects over a three-month period. The operations, which took place during the second quarter of 2026, also resulted in the rescue of 951 kidnapped victims.

Notably, in June 2026 alone, troops neutralized 129 terrorists, arrested 486 suspects, and rescued 542 civilians. The operations included significant achievements such as the rescue of 360 civilians from terrorist captivity in Borno State and the dismantling of terrorist logistics networks.

The troops also destroyed 12 illegal refining sites and recovered substantial quantities of petroleum products. The operations targeted various terrorist groups, including Boko Haram and ISWAP, and were characterized by joint land operations supported by air intelligence.

The Defence Headquarters emphasized the commitment of the armed forces to restoring peace and stability across Nigeria.
