Troops Rescue 36 Abductees, Kill Terrorists in Nigeria

The Defence Headquarters reported that troops conducted successful operations between August 31 and September 3, rescuing 36 abducted individuals and neutralizing several terrorists. Maj.-Gen. Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, detailed that operations targeted terrorists, kidnappers, and criminal networks across various regions.

In Borno and Yobe, troops of Operation HADIN KAI killed terrorists and disrupted logistics, recovering weapons and an IED initiator. Notably, one terrorist was killed on September 1 along the Miyanti-Banki Junction, and another during an encounter at Lamusuri Crossing Point.

Additionally, 21 women and children surrendered in Mafa on September 2. In Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara, Operation FANSAN YAMMA led to the neutralization of two terrorist kingpins and the recovery of significant ammunition.

Troops rescued six victims in Kebbi and 23 in Zamfara, with operations resulting in the arrest of suspects and the interception of logistics meant for terrorist enclaves.
