Nigerian Troops Neutralize 201 Terrorists in April

In a press briefing on Thursday, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) disclosed that Nigerian troops neutralized 201 terrorists and arrested 284 leaders, logisticians, and collaborators during military operations in April. Major General Michael Onoja reported that the troops rescued 188 abducted civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, restoring families and reclaiming communities across various geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

The operations targeted Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in states such as Adamawa, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe. Notably, on April 1, eight terrorists were neutralized in a coordinated ambush in Bama, Borno State.

Throughout April, troops also dismantled multiple terrorist camps and networks, resulting in the arrest of 136 terrorist fighters and the rescue of 70 kidnap victims. Additionally, operations in the Niger Delta led to the arrest of 17 suspects and the destruction of illegal refining sites, recovering significant quantities of petroleum products.
