Operation HADIN KAI Troops Defend Borno Bases, Recover Arms

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), successfully repelled coordinated terrorist attacks on Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) in Gajiram and Mairari communities of Borno State. The military inflicted casualties on the attackers and recovered weapons and combat equipment.

Additionally, two Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) terrorists, including a Qaid (commander), surrendered to troops in Bama Local Government Area. Captain Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer of OPHK, reported that the attacks on September 17 were thwarted through coordinated ground and air operations, supported by Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets.

Troops detected advancing terrorists and adopted defensive measures, while air support forced the insurgents to withdraw. Later, ISWAP fighters attacked FOB Mairari but faced stiff resistance.

Troops recovered four terrorist corpses, AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and other items during follow-up operations. Injured troops were airlifted for treatment, and the Commander of Sector 3 OPHK assessed the situation and coordinated further actions.
