Troops Rescue Six Abductees from Boko Haram in Borno

Troops from the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai achieved significant success in counter-terrorism operations by rescuing six abductees, including women and children, from Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in the Ngosh community of Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State. The rescue occurred on May 14, with the victims receiving medical care from Brigadier General Nasirudeen Abdullahi's command.

The rescued individuals included Amina Salihu (52), Aishatu Musa (50), twin sisters Hassana and Hussaina Abubakar (9), Adamu Zakariyya (12), and Usman Zakariyya (10). The troops have rescued a total of 60 women and children from Boko Haram attacks since March 3, 2026.

Additionally, during a separate operation in Yobe State, troops arrested Ibrahim Alhaji Julo (30), a suspected Boko Haram collaborator, who was allegedly involved in transporting terrorist elements and facilitating illegal tax collection. The military command reiterated its commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and ensuring the safety of civilians.
