Troops Rescue Policeman and Six Passengers in Plateau

Troops from Operation Enduring Peace rescued a policeman and six passengers who had been kidnapped in Plateau. The operation was initiated following a distress call received at 9:30 PM on a Monday near Sopp village in the Riyom Local Government Area.

Upon deployment to the scene, troops discovered an abandoned green Opel Vectra in the middle of the road, prompting an immediate search and rescue operation in the surrounding bush. During the operation, troops made contact with the kidnappers, who fled under military pressure, abandoning their captives.

The rescued victims were identified as Babagida Ishaku, Auwulu Haruna, Dung Jerri, Ana Idri, Hussaini Moham, Idri Abdullahi, and Kangyang Sundai. The victims reported that they were intercepted by gunmen while traveling to Akwanga in Nasarawa State.

Captain Oteh stated that Operation Enduring Peace will continue to aggressively fulfill its duty to ensure peace and security for law-abiding citizens in the area.
