Troops Rescue Two Kidnapped Victims in Plateau State

Troops from a joint task force conducted a successful operation in Plateau State, rescuing two kidnapped victims and apprehending a suspect linked to gunrunning activities. The rescue operation took place around Kukawa in the Kanam Local Government Area.

The troops made contact with the criminals after aggressive patrols led them to the victims' hideout. Upon sighting the troops, the kidnappers abandoned the victims, who then fled into a nearby bush.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims had been abducted at gunpoint on February 22, 2026, from Mansur village in the Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State. Efforts are ongoing to reunite the victims with their families, while troops are intensifying combing operations in the bush to apprehend any fleeing suspects.
