Trump Administration Launches Immigration Crackdown in Chicago with Operation Midway Blitz

The Trump administration launched a new immigration enforcement operation, Operation Midway Blitz, in Chicago targeting criminal illegal immigrants released onto the streets. The operation aims to apprehend individuals, including gang members and serious offenders, in response to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker's sanctuary city policy.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) accused state leaders of endangering residents by allowing dangerous offenders to roam free. Governor Pritzker defended the policy, stating it was coordinated with local authorities to fight crime and resist unauthorized enforcement actions.

DHS released a list of 11 targeted individuals with criminal histories. This crackdown extends previous operations in Washington and Los Angeles to Chicago.
