Italy Cracks Down on Chinese Mafia; Arrests 13 in Nationwide Anti-Crime Raid

Italian authorities have arrested 13 suspected members of the Chinese mafia in a nationwide anti-crime raid targeting drug trafficking, sex exploitation, and violent robbery. The operation, conducted across 25 provinces including Milan, Rome, Florence, Prato, and Catania, marks one of Italy's largest crackdowns on Asian organized crime networks.

Police seized 550 grams of crystal meth and identified 31 additional suspects linked to the syndicate. The gang primarily targeted the Chinese immigrant community using intimidation and territorial control tactics.

The arrests come after a separate probe into labor abuse within a workshop producing goods for luxury fashion houses in Prato, home to Europe's largest Chinese diaspora community. This crackdown signals an escalating effort by Italy to dismantle transnational crime networks and combat organized crime's influence.
