Trump Proposes New Names for AI, Plans AI Force

US President Donald Trump has initiated a poll asking Americans to vote on a new name for "Artificial Intelligence," proposing three alternatives: Superior Intelligence (SI), Extreme Intelligence (EI), and Supreme Intelligence (SI). He criticized the existing term as inaccurate and lacking elegance, stating, “Many people think that the words ‘Artificial Intelligence’ are inaccurate, and very ineloquent.” Trump invited users to vote on the most suitable name for this evolving technology, emphasizing its significance as a technological "Revolution." This poll coincided with his announcement of plans to create an “AI Force” and appoint an AI “czar” to manage his administration's approach to AI.

Although he did not provide specifics about the AI Force's structure or powers, he compared it to the Space Force established during his first term. Trump also asserted that his administration would not impede the growth of the AI industry, stressing its strategic importance in competition with China amid ongoing debates about AI's risks and economic potential.
