Judd Trump Triumphs Over Kyren Wilson at Shanghai Masters

Judd Trump, the world number one, clinched his second Shanghai Masters title by defeating Kyren Wilson 11-6. The final took place in Shanghai, where Trump led 7-3 after the first session.

He won four of the next seven frames to secure victory in the first major event of the 2026-27 snooker season. Wilson, who had previously won the 2025 competition, initially took an early lead but could not maintain it as Trump responded with significant breaks, including 73, 62, and a 67 clearance.

Trump extended his lead to five frames after winning the first frame post-restart. Although Wilson made a break of 103 and later a 134 clearance, Trump sealed the match by winning the 17th frame.

The Shanghai Masters is a non-ranking but lucrative event on the World Snooker Tour, with Trump earning £210,000 and Wilson £105,000. The tournament featured 24 players, including the top 16 in world rankings and four Chinese wildcards.

Trump’s next competition will be the China Open starting on August 8.
