TUC Expels 11 Members, Suspends 14 for Disobedience

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has expelled 11 members and suspended 14 others due to allegations of disobedience. This decision was made by the National Executive Council during an emergency meeting held on Monday in Lagos.

TUC President Festus Osifo announced the disciplinary measures following a report from a committee established on April 27 to investigate allegations of misconduct within the congress. The committee was tasked with reviewing cases of flagrant disobedience and ensuring fair hearings for those affected.

The expelled members include individuals from various state councils, specifically four from Lagos, three from Rivers, three from Enugu, and one from Bayelsa. The expelled members, such as Abiodun Aladetan and Gbolahan Kabiawu, will immediately cease to represent the congress and are prohibited from using its insignia or participating in its activities.

Additionally, the 14 suspended members will not represent the congress during their suspension period.
