Tuggar Defends Tinubu, Calls for Fair APC Primaries

Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, refuted claims that he criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a recent interview conducted in Hausa. He clarified that his remarks were misrepresented and reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to Tinubu's administration and the APC's agenda.

Tuggar expressed concerns regarding the internal party processes in Bauchi State, advocating for transparency and fairness in the upcoming primaries. He highlighted the importance of allowing credible candidates to compete freely and noted that the influence of Professor Muhammad Ali Pate on the APC governorship process could undermine this fairness.

Tuggar reiterated that President Tinubu has mandated political appointees seeking elective office to resign within a specified timeframe. He urged the APC leadership to address stakeholders' concerns to strengthen the party's internal democratic processes, which he believes will promote unity and enhance the party's future success in Bauchi State and Nigeria.
