Tunji Disu Emerges as Potential Successor for IGP

Tunji Disu is being considered as the successor to Usman Alkali Baba as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Nigeria. This speculation follows a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja.

Although no official statement has been released regarding this potential appointment, senior police sources have indicated that Disu is a strong candidate. Born on April 13, 1966, Olatunji Disu has previously served as the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and was later deployed to Rivers State.

He has also been the head of the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force, which handles high-profile criminal investigations. Currently, he holds the position of Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department.

Disu is a graduate of English Education from Lagos State University and holds two master's degrees in Public Administration and Criminology/Security Legal Psychology from Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State. The Nigeria Police hierarchy is awaiting formal confirmation from the President regarding this potential shift in leadership.
