PDP's Turaki Unveils Strategies for 2027 Elections

On Wednesday, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, the faction chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), outlined fresh initiatives aimed at rescuing the party in preparation for the 2027 elections. He expressed optimism about reconciliation efforts, particularly following a recent court ruling in Ibadan.

Turaki emphasized the need to resolve ongoing issues within the party to provide a platform for candidates seeking electoral office. He mentioned the establishment of a high-power committee to interface with estranged party members and called for immediate actions to de-escalate tensions.

Despite challenges, he assured that the PDP would comply with Article 6(2) of the party's amended constitution from 2017. Turaki also acknowledged the continued interest of Nigerians in the party, urging members to work collectively to ensure the PDP's participation in the upcoming elections.

He concluded by reaffirming the party's commitment to democracy and the importance of holding the government accountable.
