Bayelsa APC Primaries See High Turnout, Diri Satisfied

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State expressed satisfaction with the impressive voter turnout during the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries held on a Monday. He noted that the primaries were conducted peacefully across 105 wards in the state, with a consensus option adopted in most areas, except for the Bayelsa East district, which opted for direct primaries.

Diri's Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, commended party members for their peaceful conduct and highlighted the absence of ugly incidents during the exercise. The governor attributed the large turnout to the APC administration's focus on peace and development.

Solomon Ogba, who led the APC national assembly primary committee, assured that the voting process would be transparent and credible, with monitoring by independent electoral observers, including representatives from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The primaries were seen as a reflection of the party's commitment to democratic processes in the state.
