Adeleke and Oyebamiji Face Off in Osun Governorship Race

The Osun governorship election has become a two-horse race between the incumbent, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, and Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC). As the election approaches, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure a peaceful and transparent election, emphasizing the importance of the people's will.

The Nigeria Police Force has implemented a 42-hour restriction of movement from midnight until 6:00 p.m. on election day to maintain order. Osun State has 2,339,233 registered voters, with 1,906,390 having collected their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), representing 81.50%.

INEC's figures indicate that Osogbo has the largest electorate, followed by Ife East and Olorunda. Mohammed Haruna, INEC National Commissioner, assured readiness for a credible election, while Tinubu urged voters to fulfill their civic duties and maintain peace.
