Dele Momodu Backs Adeleke in Osun Governorship Election

Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), characterized the upcoming Osun State governorship election as a direct contest between Governor Ademola Adeleke and President Bola Tinubu. During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Momodu expressed his support for Adeleke, despite being a member of the ADC, citing his commitment to uniting opposition parties against the ruling party.

He stated that he consulted party elders before backing Adeleke, identifying him and APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji as the main contenders. Momodu asserted that the APC could not compete with Adeleke's political strength in Osun, claiming the real battle is between Adeleke and President Tinubu.

He described Adeleke as a close friend and criticized the political intimidation faced by the governor, urging Nigerians to support him. Although the ADC has its candidate, Najeem Salam, Momodu appealed to the party leadership to allow him to campaign for Adeleke, emphasizing his belief in the governor's capabilities.
