Senegal U-17 Team Claims First AFCON Title Against Morocco

The Senegal U-17 National Team won their first U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title by defeating Morocco on home soil. Senegal took the lead in the 23rd minute when Mouham Wagn capitalized on a rebound to score.

Morocco had a chance to equalize before halftime, but a goal by Adam Al Laki was disallowed after a VAR review ruled a foul on the goalkeeper. In the second half, Senegal adopted a defensive strategy, but a penalty was awarded to Morocco for a handball by Bu Cheikh Dieng.

However, Senegal's goalkeeper Assan Sarr saved Ismail El Aoud's penalty kick. Sarr again impressed during the penalty shootout, leading Senegal to victory in sudden death.

This win marks Senegal's qualification for the U-17 AFCON final, where they will face Tanzania on Tuesday, June 2.
