Davido Criticizes Tinubu Over Osun Election Conduct

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, publicly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the ongoing Osun State governorship election. He accused the President of failing to protect democracy, particularly in light of security deployments during the election.

Davido made his comments on Saturday via a post on X, tagging Tinubu and stating, “U no try @officialABAT.” He further claimed that the Tinubu administration was undermining democracy, referencing reports of police and military presence at polling units. Voting in the Osun State governorship election concluded on Saturday, with results emerging from various polling units.

The Accord Party, led by Governor Ademola Adeleke, showed strong performance in early results, securing 97 votes at Olukoro Village against the APC's 82 votes. In another unit, Accord garnered 104 votes compared to the APC's 58.

Davido also urged INEC officials to utilize the front camera of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) if the main camera failed, emphasizing the importance of technology in the voting process.
