UBA Appoints Ibrahim Puri as Non-Executive Director

United Bank for Africa Plc has appointed Ibrahim Ajimasu Puri as a non-executive director, subject to approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria. This decision was disclosed in a notice signed by Bili A.

Odum, the group company secretary, following a board meeting held on August 13, 2026. Puri previously served as an executive director at UBA before retiring in 2022.

He currently holds non-executive director positions on the boards of Nigerian Breweries Plc and 9mobile. With over 35 years of experience in banking, fintech, telecommunications, and fast-moving consumer goods, Puri possesses a master’s degree in banking and finance from Bayero University, Kano, and has attended executive programmes at Harvard University, the University of Oxford, and Euromoney London.

Additionally, during the same board meeting, UBA approved its audited financial statements for the six months ended June 30, 2026.
