UBA Approves H1 2026 Audited Accounts, Appoints New NED

United Bank for Africa Plc has disclosed that its Board of Directors, at a meeting held on August 13, 2026, approved the Group's audited financial statements for the half-year ended June 30, 2026, pending Central Bank of Nigeria sign-off. The Board also approved the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Ajimasu Puri as a Non-Executive Director, also subject to CBN approval.

United Bank for Africa Plc filed a corporate action notice on August 20, 2026, confirming two decisions taken at its Board meeting of August 13, 2026. First, the Board approved the Group's Audited Accounts and Financial Statements for the half-year ended June 30, 2026.

The approval remains conditional on clearance from the Central Bank of Nigeria. UBA stated that the investing public and the Nigerian Exchange Limited will be notified immediately upon receiving that CBN approval.

The Bank's closed period will remain in effect until 24 hours after the H1 2026 financials are publicly released. Second, the Board approved the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Ajimasu Puri as a Non-Executive Director, also subject to CBN approval.

Mr. Puri brings over 35 years of experience across banking, fintech, telecommunications, and FMCG. He previously served as an Executive Director on UBA's Board before retiring in 2022 and currently holds non-executive board positions at Nigerian Breweries Plc and 9mobile.

He holds a Master's Degree in Banking and Finance from Bayero University, Kano, and has attended executive programmes at Harvard University, the University of Oxford, and Euromoney London.
