Uba Sani Launches Livestock Support for 5,000 Cooperatives

On Thursday, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State initiated a livestock intervention program aimed at supporting 5,000 cooperatives across the state. This initiative includes the distribution of livestock, 500 solar-powered freezers, 300 feed millers, 3,000 bags of poultry feed, and 200,000 day-old chicks.

The program is designed to empower farmers, particularly women and youth, and enhance the agricultural value chain in Kaduna State. Governor Sani emphasized the importance of modern technology and investment in agriculture to boost productivity and reduce post-harvest losses.

The initiative also includes the distribution of 100 residue crushers and 50 fodder choppers to assist sedentary pastoralist groups. Additionally, the governor highlighted ongoing efforts to rehabilitate abattoirs, construct veterinary clinics, and ensure animal healthcare through vaccination campaigns.

The program is part of a broader agricultural reform strategy aimed at improving market access and establishing Kaduna State as a leader in Nigeria's agricultural renaissance.
